North Atlanta National Bank's Stakeholders' Report
1st Quarter 2007

Nasser Heavy equipment Profile

Nasser Al-Anssi and his wife, Marian Gamble, are living proof of the American dream. When the couple met in 1977 in Yemen, Nasser repaired and maintained a fleet of heavy equipment for the local government and Marian was serving in the Peace Corps.

Today, the couple owns and operates Nasser Heavy Equipment Inc., a successful enterprise that sells, leases and repairs new and used heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, excavators, etc.

A customer of North Atlanta National Bank since 1997, the company is the exclusive Hyundai dealer for northern Georgia and a premier dealer of Sakai, Eager Beaver Trailers, CAT, Deere, Case and many other manufacturers. It has won numerous sales awards from Hyundai, Eager Beaver and others.

Nasser Heavy Equipment's branch in Villa Rica, at I-20 (above), is one of three metro Atlanta locations from which the company sells, leases and repairs new and used heavy equipment.

The company's origins go back to 1990 when Nasser and Marian moved to the U.S. with their three children. Despite not knowing the language when he moved here, Nasser learned to speak English and landed a job as a mechanic with Tucker Equipment Sales in Norcross.

It was while working for Tucker Equipment that Nasser met Tony Webb, now an executive vice president at North Atlanta National Bank. Tony facilitated a loan for Nasser in 1994 for the purchase of a piece of heavy machinery. This proved to be the start of Nasser Heavy Equipment.

Beginning with a handful of employees and few pieces of heavy equipment, the company has more than tripled in size in the last decade to 5 full-time employees and three locations, including: Hurricane Shoals Road in Lawrenceville; in Cumming, at Georgia 400; and their newest branch office in Villa Rica, at I-20.

Because of his specialized knowledge and expertise in heavy machinery, Nasser and his team of mechanics can repair and rebuild used equipment to run like new. This skill allows some of Nasser Heavy Equipment's customers to avoid the high costs associated with buying new equipment.

Marian likes to point out that in addition to his mechanical know-how, Nasser has a keen understanding of the financial aspects of running the business and a healthy appreciation for the value of customer service - the key ingredients to the company's success.

"The only thing you have in this business is your reputation," Nasser often says. "That is why you have to be honest and fair with your customers."

Operating on this philosophy, Nasser Heavy Equipment still has relationships with customers that began when the company first opened its doors in 1997. These lasting partnerships and the reputation for honesty that the company has built over the years have been catalysts for the company's growth.

North Atlanta National Bank has been proud to support and grow with Nasser Heavy Equipment each step along the way. The bank has provided numerous loans to the company, from three-month and six-month bridge loans to finance a truckload of heavy equipment, to financing the construction of two office locations.

Nasser often finds great deals on heavy equipment in Europe and South America. North Atlanta National Bank has been there to quickly facilitate the purchase and import of those pieces of equipment.

"I have received excellent service from North Atlanta National Bank," says Nasser. "They have always been there for me when I needed help. I also have a great deal of respect for Tony Webb. He is a professional, talented banker."
